I think Im gonna start with Christmas:
As you know the Americans celebrate Christmas the 25th of December not the 24th but they also have something called "christmas eve" its "Heiligabend" in germany and they just go to church but dont get their presents yet. My Hostfamily and I went to my hostmoms parents. since they have so many family members they have to do it on the 24th because otherwise they wont have time for the other family :)
We ate (as usual) and the kids unwrapped their presents. After they were done we ate christmas cookies and after a while we drove home.
The next day we unwrapped the present under our christmas tree and I got like 2 blankets and pillows and a minnesota sweatshirt AND MEASURING CUPS :) No I can bake american recipes in Germany !
Okay after we were done we went out to the farm and got more presents :) The whole family was there so it was crowded and loud but it was fun ! :)
The next big thing was New Years eve...well for us Germans it is a big thing but the americans dont even make fireworks...theyd go to bed at 10ish and the next morning they would be like: Happy New Year! Well since i wanted at least a little bit fun at new years eve my friend julia from Germany came over and we had a lot of fun :) we stayed up til 2am and had a countdown....
Well and we had school again January 3rd....
We also went to Chanhassan its a Dinner theater. We watched the show Hairspray it was AMAZING and we had soooo much fun. If you dont know what a dinner theater is : you sit at a table and eat and during your eating the show starts. So you watch and eat its sooo much fun ! :)
That was one of the best experiences EVER *__*
And I think the weekend after that we had a nother Aspect meeting in the MALL OF AMERICA
Its a veeeery huge mall with roller coaster in it and so on.
